UK Libraries Selected to Host HBCU Exchange

We’ve just learned that our proposal to host another HBCU librarian as part of the ASERL/HBCU Alliance has been accepted. Eddie Hughes, Southern University and A&M College, Baton Rouge, LA will be spending some time with us this summer. His project – to create a database of prominent African Americans in Baton Rouge – is a perfect match with the work that Reinette Jones and Rob Aken have done on our Notable Kentucky African-Americans database. We’ll also plan for Eddie to spend some time with the Kentucky African American Encyclopedia Project housed in the King Building. I will be meeting Eddie and making plans for his visit during the upcoming SOLINET Annual Membership Meeting in Atlanta in early May.
