RDA: The basics
Ann Chapman writes: “Resource Description and Access is the new cataloging code due to be published next year. The development process has generated (sometimes heated) discussion. It’s designed as an online resource. RDA is a content standard—a set of guidelines for describing a resource. It sets out what information needs to be recorded and in what level of detail in order to support the catalog user in finding, identifying, selecting, and obtaining a resource, enabling them to make informed choices.”...Update (CILIP), Aug. 15
