Earlier this month, UK Libraries took home awards for 3 out of our 4 Council for the Advancement and Support of Education, Kentucky chapter (CASE-KY) award submissions and 2 of the awards were first prize Grand Awards. By virtue of winning our state competitions, we’re still in the competition for the CASE Region III Awards in Feb. 2009.
Congratulations to Doug Boyd for the Grand Award in CASE-KY (Audiovisual Communications) Radio Programs and Announcements for their collaboration in the oral history series. Doug collaborated with WUKY for a series about the Nunn Center for Oral History; topics have included the Bill Keightley archive project, dirty tricks in Kentucky political campaigns of yesteryear and the Frontier Nursing Program.
Congratulations to Sharon Ross and Jessica Hughes for the Grand Award for our newsletter, Speaking Volumes in the External Tabloids and Newsletters. Congratulations to Kelley Nalli and Cornett for their help in developing the template three years ago. Jessica has developed desktop publishing and photography skills that help make this an excellent publication.
Our new brochure for the UK Libraries also received a Merit Award in the Direct Mail, Brochure category.
Sharon Ross attended the meeting for the Libraries and was presented with a certificate, at the CASE-KY award program at the Mohammed Ali Center in Louisville. President Todd will receive a letter announcing the awards this week. A press release with more details is available at http://news.uky.edu/news/display_article.php?category=1&artid=4247
My thanks to Sharon and Jessica for preparing our submissions so that they could contend for these awards.
