FOKAL

In July 2007, the library directors of many of the public and private academic institutions held a Summit to discuss the formation of a consortial group. Over the course of the next year, a task force formed by the group (of which I was a member) created the rationale and governing values for FOKAL (Federation of Kentucky Academic Libraries). Earlier this week, FOKAL meet again to consider a draft set of bylaws and the memorandum of agreement that each member would sign to join the federation. The bylaws and MOA need some relatively minor revision but it is clear that the group we formed and that UK will be a founding member.
