ARL Library Profiles
As part of ARL’s attempt to add context and qualitative description to the regular annual statistics, each institution was asked to create a 1,500 word profile that described the unique aspects of its research library. In general terms we were asked to focus on collections and services as they articulate the value of the library to the research, teaching and learning missions of our institution. Examples of high impact collaborations between the library and the larger campus community in addition to other professional collaborations were requested. To date more than 40 of the 120 ARL libraries have submitted their profiles including UK. The profiles are now more easily accessible through the following publicly available URL: http://directors.arl.org/wiki/institution-profiles. Judy Wiza has also posted our profile on the SharePoint site for the Assessment Committee. My thanks to Judy and Terry for working with me to construct and refine our profile. We surely needed more than 1,500 words to describe all that you are doing that distinguishes the UK Libraries.
