Video Exhibition of Artworks by High School Students in the Hub

May 11th will mark the opening of the first video exhibit of artwork by high school students at the Hub. In collaboration with Tates Creek High School, Gail Kennedy and Stacey Greenwell have arranged this exhibit which will run from May 11th through June 12th. An opening reception recognizing the high school artists and their work will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Monday, May 11. The exhibition and reception are free and open to the public. We invited the school’s Art Department to exhibit student works this spring in The Hub’s video windows, thus making the school the first Lexington high school to mount an art exhibition in Young Library. Pencil Drawings, chalk pastels, tempera paintings, India ink and ceramics from approximately 150 students will be on display as part of the exhibition. Students represented in the show take Art I, Drawing I and Beginning Ceramics classes. This extends our existing partnership with the high school’s International Baccalaureate program.
