John Quincy Adams: Twitterer
The Massachusetts Historical Society in Boston has launched a Twitter feed based on the short diary entries of John Quincy Adams, sixth president of the United States. A few months ago, a student touring the society observed, upon hearing of Adams’s terse entries, “It’s like he’s using Twitter.” Adams began one of his short diaries on August 5, 1809, when he departed for Russia as U.S. ambassador.
